'Lady & the Hound' is a tailored Canine Care and Coaching service providing dog training and puppy classes, socialisation courses, dog recreation, dog daycare and dog boarding.
Founded by Imogen Haley after she became a dog owner herself, the business aims to help owners raise and coach their dogs to become well adjusted pets in an environment which feels safe and friendly to both dog and owner. We believe it's important for us to work in partnership with you and your dog and to help us build that all important bond, we use only 'reward based training' methods. Whilst caring for your dogs, we look after them as if they were our own - from our own home in beautiful Battersea.
Imogen is a certified trainer with Puppy School UK and is also currently studying to become an animal behaviourist. She is a fully insured and accredited member of the 'National Association of Registered Pet Sitters' (NarpsUK) and has a team of several assistant handlers and dog sitters whom are also insured.
'Lady & The Hound' is based in South West London, covering all SW postcodes and our Puppy School classes are currently held in Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington.
We offer one-to-one or small group puppy training classes over a six week period and tailor these to the individual needs of the puppy. A combination of indoor and outdoor activities are included and we use reward based training methods. Our aim is to equip owners with the necessary training skills to carry on using with their puppy throughout its growth into doghood. Puppy classes are fun as well as educational and we welcome friends and family to join in too.
One of the first key stages of puppy development is socialisation. It's vital to make sure every young puppy experiences as many different situations as possible to prevent anxiety and aggression in later life. We run a six week practical course which takes place in 'real life' and will expose your dog to various different scenarios. Your dog will become more familiar with its surroundings as a result and will feel more confident around other dogs, adults and children.
We offer personalised walks as well as small group recreational sessions. We are licensed to walk up to six dogs per walker but prefer to keep the pack to a maximum of four dogs per walker which means that your dog will receive the same care and attention as she would on a walk with you. We require off lead release forms to be signed which means if you are not happy for your dog to be exercised off lead, we are required by law to abide by your wishes. We use social media to provide daily updates of our recreation sessions and can also send regular updates direct to your phone in real time.
Our dog sitting service offers a home from home for your dog and our situation next to Battersea Park provides us with the perfect recreation ground. We have comfortable beds, doggy sofas, boxes of toys and a variety of healthy chews and puzzle mats to keep your dogs engaged and entertained. They are free to roam around as they would at home and are never confined to cages. Prior to any stay we ask owners to fill out a full medical assessment detailing any allergies or health issues and we look forward to welcoming your pup back to the pack on a regular basis.
